Greyfriars in Winter

Greyfriars in Winter.

Built in the early 1300s, all that remains of the Franciscan monastery is the fine gateway set in the old perimeter wall, and this building which is thought to be the refectory, where the community of friars would have eaten their meals.

Dunwich Forest

Dunwich Forest.

Many acres of forest stretch to the north and west of Dunwich, managed by Forest Enterprise and Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Many footpaths run through it and a herd of Dartmoor ponies help to maintain the land here.
